You can draw. You can execute. The problem isn’t skill — it’s not knowing what to make next. Capable artists get stuck at the ideation step: twenty scattered experiments, no clear through-line, no defensible next project. ApoKrino teaches the step before execution — how to look at what you’ve already made and find the signal that’s already there.

If you’re an AP Art & Design or IB / A-Level student: your Sustained Investigation and Personal Investigation topics get decided in September. Walk into September already knowing what your investigation is about — instead of guessing in week one and rebuilding in October.

The five-step method

Scan → Generate → Transform → Narrow → Build.

  1. Scan across recent work to see what keeps returning.
  2. Generate real alternatives from that signal.
  3. Transform them into concrete project directions.
  4. Narrow to the one that carries weight.
  5. Build a coherent next project on the ground you already stand on.

What you leave with

  • A named project direction that came out of your own work.
  • A Signal Map — the recurring marks, subjects, and questions your practice keeps circling.
  • A plan for what to make next, and why.

What the ten weeks look like

Five live sessions across ten weeks — every other week — in a small founding cohort: Scan, then Generate, Transform, Narrow, and Build, with light work on your own pieces in between. You leave with a Signal Map and a named next project.

What it costs

$250 — founding-cohort price. Five live sessions across ten weeks, a small cohort of eight, and your Signal Map and project plan to keep. This is the founding rate for the first cohort; it goes up after.

Why trust it

Drawn from 25+ years of teaching, including a year at the Smithsonian. Students have gone on to programs including RISD, SAIC, and Stanford. Founder Trevett Allen teaches ideation as a practice, not a promise.

We won’t promise you a school. We teach you to find what your work is about — which is what admissions readers, galleries, and audiences actually reward.
